Late Nite With Ed Moore III returned with its season three premiere On Friday, September 7, 2012, dedicating it to the anniversary of the September 11th terrorists attacks. The tribute show consisted of guests from all walks of life who convened at WLJS studios in Jacksonville, Alabama to pay their respects and tell their remembrances of the tragic day Americans will never forget. The tribute show surrounded a diverse pool of individuals from Alabama, South Carolina, New Orleans and Atlanta, with occupations ranging from restaurant managers, to retail employees to disaster relief workers. Guests told their stories of where they were on September 11, 2001 and what those memories mean to them eleven years later. The first songs of the new season played during the commercial breaks of the tribute were performed by some of the greatest artists of all time, which included Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Kirk Franklin and Jennifer Hudson. Ed later told sources the particular songs by these artists were chosen because they all, in some way, provided a subliminal message of hope and healing.
David Alexander - Witnessed The 9/11 Attacks In NYC
Towards the middle of the show, Ed brought on David Alexander, a witness from the attacks in New York City at the World Trade Center. Alexander, although currently lives in South Carolina, was a resident of New York City during September 11th. During the show, Alexander said he moved out of New York City due to the pain associated with remembrances from 9/11.
Pearl Williams - Lost Her Son At The Pentagon On 9/11
Probably of the most pivotal moments of the premiere show was an Alabama mother, Pearl Williams, who lost her son at the Pentagon on 9/11. She touched on the pain that she went through losing her son as well as the long healing process in the years after 9/11.
